Danilo Maddalena
Danilo Maddalena (ITALY) – international dancer, graduate in motor sciences, instructor and organizer and director for 10 years of the European Tango Festival & Championships, Italian Tango Festival & Championships, Metropolitan Tango Italia.
Danilo began dancing Ballroom and Latin American dances at the age of 7 and has been participating in numerous national and international competitions, achieving many titles throughout his youth. In 2011 he received his diploma as Professional and International Judge, licensed by the World Dance Council (WDC).
His study of Argentine tango started in Italy, then live periods of months in Buenos Aires studying with milongueros as Carlitos Perez, through his main teachers, Vanesa Villalba and Facundo Pinero. Since then, he has danced along side on stage and Festivals with many of the best Maestros, also partnered with the great Alejandra Mantinan in shows for 2 years.
He became the organizer of the major festival, the Italian Championship and European Championship, officially recognized from the government of Buenos Aires (FESTIVAL Y MUNDIAL) in 2014 and the owner and organizer of the Metropolitano Tango in Italy which started in 2015. He is the founder and Artistic Director of “2 Corazones Tango Accademia” in Rimini, one of the most important Academy and Milonga in Italy, with his wife and dance partner Pam Est Là.
Michalis Kyriakides
Michalis Kyriakides used to live in Thessaloniki- Greece and now in Cyprus. Along with his profession (he is an entrepreneur in the medical and other fields) he always loved music and thus studied for several years guitar, music theory and singing. In 2013, tango came into his life and has soon grown into a way of living. During his short encounter, he deeply delved in the dance of tango, its music, different Eras and of course, Orchestras.
Michalis is a well-known tango Dj in Thessaloniki, Northern Greece and Cyprus. Apart from being the main DJ in Thessaloniki’s Tango Bar for more than 2 years, he was also one of the main DJs and co-organizer of “Milonga at Kohyli Bar” in Thessaloniki. He has been invited very often to perform as guest DJ in several milongas in Cyprus and Thessaloniki (La milonga, milonga Remolina, colorido milonga, milonga sin palabras, Tango Amor milonga, Thessaloniki’s Museum Milonga, TDFcompetition gran milonga, La Reina gran milonga etc) and international events(2nd,3rd and 4th Limassol “souvlaki”tango marathon, 3rd,4thand 6th “Cyprus Tango meeting” festival, Tango-aires festival-Xanthi, Intriga tango festival-Thessaloniki, 2nd Unchained tango Festival –Athens, 2nd Cyprus tango festival, Thamiris Tango Festival).
He has a deep kn0wledge on tango music-history and tango orchestras and he is giving seminars about tango music and tango Djing!
Michalis is known for his ability to sense what dancers desire at any particular moment and either go with the flow, or surprise them with his combinations. As a result he is now one of the most desirable Tango DJs in Thessaloniki, Northern Greece and Cyprus.
Georges Samaha
George grew up in an entertainment environment. Since he was a kid, he had showed interest for music and dancing. After dancing for many years Latin, he took his first Tango steps in November 2004. Few months later he was already addicted and started collecting a huge library of Argentinean tango music. His addiction went in parallel; dancing and collecting music till he started to DJ in 2010. He was the resident DJ of the Limassol Milonga Remolina and a favorite of all the Cyprus Tango community.
George focusses mainly on traditional Argentinean tango music but has a lot of knowledge of other styles/genres, rest assured to be actively dancing during his session.
George has participated in all International tango events in Cyprus. In all eight editions of the Cyprus Tango Meeting in Protaras. Five editions of the Cyprus Tango Camp in Kyrenia. Five Souvlaki tango marathon Limassol, 2 Editions of Elegante Tango marathon in Kyrenia April 2022&2023. He was DJ at the eighth Athens Tango Marathon, Beirut Libertango weekend, at Tango Bar in Thessaloniki Greece 2018, at Krakow Tango marathon 2018, Milonga Pasional in Padova /Italy Dec 2018, at the 2nd Cyprus Tango Festival Dec 2018, DJ at Nizhni Novgorod/Russia at “Los Puentes Tango Marathon” & in St Petersburg April 2019. At Tiflis tango festival May 2019. IstanbulOdessa tango Marathon & Beirut Tango Abrazo February 2023. Three Editions of Cappadocia tango marathon in July 2019/2022& 2023. First edition of Pamukkale tango marathon April 2023. During his last visit to Argentina in December 2017, He had the opportunity to DJ at local milongas in Buenos Aires.
A fun milonga is guaranteed with after party till the early hours of the morning.
Rasit Turkeri
In Rasit Turkeri’s own words: Tango music is a danceable feeling and my music choices can be both emotional and dynamic, high energy and coming from old years. Since 2007, I have stepped into tango, and my interest in tango music has grown even more and I have preferred to dance and make music and to experience the same invaluable emotions on the same track with the dancers for years. Since 2012, as a DJ, he has performed in local milongas and festivals in Cyprus, Istanbul, Ankara, Antalya, Adana, Eskişehir, İzmir, Marmaris, I took my place at the beginning of the set in Greece (Athens), Germany (Berlin, Nuremberg).
Alexis Papastefanatos
Alexis dances tango since 2004 and since 2006 Alexis is working with Eugenia.
Alexis and Eugenia are teachers of Tango giving private and group lessons since 2008. Their goal is to promote the music, dance, etiquette and culture of the Tango, presenting shows in Greece and abroad.
Alexis is regularly invited as a tango DJ in some the biggest Milongas of Athens and he has also DJ’d in festivals in Greece and abroad.
He mainly chooses tangos from the late ’20s to the mid ’50s and he pays special attention to the melodic and rhythmic composition of his Tandas, while he looks to inspire the dancers and to keep them on the dance floor.
Ajit Bubber
It is a well-known fact that Tango finds you and not the other way around.
Seventeen short years ago Tango found Ajit while he was honing his culinary skills in Italy – and though he prefers to dance, he enjoys making you dance as well and has developed his own unconventional DJ skills.
He was an architect of the tango community in Dubai and was host of the most popular ‘Asado’ milonga for several years. He is lovingly known as the “boss” of the touring “Cyprus Tango Mafia” and the engine of 5 successful editions Limassol Souvlaki Tango Marathon currently on a sabbatical.
He normally opens with tandas of Alternate danceable non tango tracks and settles down to the Golden Age, Rodolfo Biagi being his favourite, with a touch of modern orchestras, traditional milongas and exotic valses punctuate the tango tandas and will guarantee to keep your feet on the floor till the La Cumparsita.
He played at the 9th Cyprus Tango Meeting recently and has invitations at the Elegante Tango Marathon, Chania Tango Marathon, Riga Glamour Tango Marathon and the 2nd Malta Tango Marathon later in 2024
