The Republic of Cyprus is a member of the European Union since 1st May 2004. Citizens of all European Union member states do not require a visa to enter the Republic of Cyprus. Third country nationals must apply and obtain a visa for admission to the Republic of Cyprus, for 90 days or less, as visitors for business or pleasure. The visa requirement for entering Cyprus is waived on the basis of the EU relevant Regulations for the citizens of certain countries.
